At Make Moldova Green, tree planting is at the core of our mission to restore Moldova's natural environment. Since the days of the Soviet Union, Moldova's forested areas have been steadily declining, leaving our country with one of the lowest forest coverage rates in Europe—currently less than 12%. This loss has had severe impacts on biodiversity, soil quality, and the climate, making reforestation efforts more urgent than ever.
Our team, together with local communities, is committed to reversing this trend by planting native trees in deforested areas, parks, and along riverbanks. By restoring forests, we aim to combat soil erosion, improve air and water quality, and provide critical habitats for wildlife. Each tree we plant is a step towards reversing deforestation, preserving Moldova’s unique natural heritage, and mitigating the effects of climate change.
Beyond the environmental benefits, our tree planting initiatives are also deeply community-focused. We engage schools, businesses, and volunteers from across the country, bringing people together to protect and nurture our land. These efforts not only help rebuild our ecosystems but also create awareness and educate the next generation about the importance of environmental stewardship.
By supporting or joining our tree planting projects, you’re not only contributing to reforestation but also helping to strengthen our communities and ensure a greener, healthier Moldova for generations to come. Together, we can reclaim Moldova’s lost forests and build a sustainable future.
